Exchange words with Nature on Shimla Tour

Holiday in Shimla is all about fun, peace and relaxation. Tourists especially embark on a Shimla tour to spend a relaxing vacation and to enjoy an escape from the scorching heat.

Shimla Tour
My immense desire to travel to hills took me on a Shimla tour. I took along my friend Matheu with me on the trip and we went on exploring the “Queen of Hills”.

As we boarded train from Old Delhi, it took us overnight to reach Shimla. We kept our luggage in the already booked hotel room and went off to take rest in the comfy ambience. After some time, we were ready to go on Shimla sightseeing after filling our stomach with scrumptious breakfast.

With snow-covered Shivalik mountains, apple orchards and pine forests, Shimla just took away my heart. The stunning hill station, sprawled over 12 km on a crescent shaped ridge, Shimla is simply marvellous.

Jakhu Temple was the first tourist attraction in Shimla that we visited. Lying on Jakhu hill, it requires an hour challenging trek to the temple. The temple has legends attached to it, which says that Lord Hanuman rested at the place during his journey to Himalayas for Sanjivani Booti. Aggressive monkeys were surrounding the temple and get tempted to see the food items. We kept our eatable in bag to refrain from the attack of monkeys.

Christ Church in Shimla
Next on our Shimla trip, we moved on to see the Christ Church, consecrated in the year 1846. The Church boasts of being the second oldest in North India. Adorned with an imposing Victorian architecture, the church has an impressive interior as well.

Another imposing structure that we visited was the Viceregal Lodge in Shimla. It is a mansion, built in 1888 for Lord Dufferin. This 100 years old building still retains its old world charm. Our Shimla travel enables us to enjoy the view of sunset at the place, enveloped by British style gardens.

We also visited Tara Devi Temple that lie 11 km from the town. Dedicated to Goddess Kali, the temple offers peaceful ambience and forms an important part of Shimla tourism.

As Matheu wanted to buy some souvenirs for his family, he took me to the Mall. It was truly a hub of merriment with shops, a heritage theater and restaurants. He picked some good woollen stuff for family members and we visited a good restaurant where we relished South Indian cuisine.

From there, we went on to visit Kufri. The reason was to enjoy Skiing in Kufri. Based on our experience, I can say that Kufri is a great place for skiing.

The tour ended but the delightful memories occupied my mind.
